About
the Podcast

We’re all recovering from something.
Loss. Burnout. Breakups. Burned bridges. Addictions. Expectations. Or just the quiet ache of trying to hold it all together.
At How to Recover, we don’t offer 5-step formulas or glossy inspirational quotes. We offer real talk. Conversations that are raw, unrushed, and radically honest — about the messy, beautiful, impossible business of healing.
What we talk about.
Hosted by Zoe & Hattie — longtime friends, recovery warriors, and unlicensed queens of deep chats — each episode cracks open a new layer of what it means to recover. We talk about grief, addiction, sobriety, family estrangement, self-trust, therapy, faith, loss, finding purpose, starting over, staying in it, and walking away.
We ask better questions. We sit with the awkward pauses. And sometimes, we laugh our way through tears.
Who we talk with.
Our guests are not always famous. They’re real people with real stories — therapists, survivors, ex-cult members, CPTSD sufferers, late diagnosed neurodivergents, former addicts, artists, athletes, cycle-breakers, and quiet revolutionaries who’ve faced the fire and come out carrying the light.
Why it matters.
This isn’t just a podcast. It’s a practice. A place to drop your guard. A pause in the chaos. A reminder that you’re not broken — just healing.
We launched How to Recover in 2025, and our intention is for our listeners to experience the engaged community that lives for tough questions and tender truths. We want to hold a mirror up to the wonder of our fellow travellers and the mountains we have moved. For themselves. For each other. For the healing work.
This is for you, if you’re not done trying.
And even if you are — we’ve got a mic, a sofa, and a cup of tea waiting.
